Hello everyone! My name is Jessica and I'm a third year Makeup Hair and Prosthetics student based in Bournemouth and London. At the moment I'm in the final stages of my degree at The Arts University Bournemouth. I have experience working on film sets, adverts and editorial sets, and I am keen to continue expanding my portfolio. If you would like to collaborate or have any job opportunities for me, please get in touch via my contact page. Thank you

My Portfolio
Bellow shows my portfolio of work I have been building up over the last few years in University and out in the Industry. As you can see, I have explored a broad range of pathways in the industry, but my favourite specialisms include wig making and styling, and prosthetic work. Any questions or queries send them over!
Wigs!
Fully knotted synthetic wig
The images bellow show a wig I made for one of my university projects. The image on the right shows one of my final images from this brief, which was to create an editorial hair and makeup based off of the Mad Hatter from Alice in wonderland.

Wigs!
Fully knotted synthetic wig
The images bellow show a wig I made for one of my university projects. The image on the right shows one of my final images from this brief, which was to create an editorial hair and makeup based off of the Mad Hatter from Alice in wonderland. This look consisted of a three part lace wig construction, fully knotted using bulk knots and single knots and styled using hot sticks. I then made the hat out of synthetic hair wefts. This was structured with wire, a paper plate, hot glue and small elastics.

Bellow shows the same wig, but brushed and steamed out, before being restyled using heated tongs set into barrel curls. I dressed this out into big bouncy waves.

1785 Georgian Hedgehog Wig
Bellow shows images of a wig I recently constructed and styled for a museum exhibition. I created a 3 part lace construction using foundation and fine lace. I then added wefts to the majority, and knotted the hairline. This was styled to create an authentic looking late Georgian wig. I used two different sized rollers to style this, very small ones for the top section and slightly larger ones for the hair at the nape of the neck. In these images, you can see my construction, close up's of my knotting, and the wig before and after it was styled. This project was a collaboration with costume students at my university, for an exhibition at the Height's of Abraham in Derbyshire. My role on this was wig supervisor, meaning I helped to organize ten second year students in making and styling wigs.

Prosthetics!
Alan the Alien
The images below show an alien I made in one of my third year projects. The brief I set myself was to create an alien for the new Dr Who series, which would come from the planet Uranus. I researched TV context makeup and prosthetics, as well as other existing Dr Who characters and conditions on the planet Uranus to design and create an alien that would be able to survive/have adapted to the conditions of this planet. In terms of practical work, I did a face cast on my model, sculpted the design on this and then floated it off to create a lower lip piece and a mask. Created these with plaster close moulds and ran them in silicone. I then made a cap plastic bald cap, a flat piece spine with lights in it (sculpted on bendy plastic and flat piece mould made in plaster for budget reasons). 3D printed half spheres and VAC formed for the eyes. Pre painted the mask with white cream paint and airbrushing alcohol paints. The rest of the look was painted after it was all applied using white cream paint on the rest of the face, made my own PAX paint and used this on the bald cap, and then airbrushed white alcohol paint to even out the white, and then matched up the blue and red tones with alcohol paints and an airbrush, and hand painted the veins and capillaries with a alcohol paint and a brush.
The above images show my final look, the design and a paint test I did on a faulty silicone mask (used for tests as there was a thin layer of silicone in the cap plastic edge.) Bellow shows a face cast on my model, the sculpt of the mask, and a flat piece spine with lights encased in it.

Editorial and Beauty!
Bellow show some of behind the scenes images and final images from collaborates with photography students I have worked on since being in University. This includes beauty and editorial makeup. I have also included makeup I have done on myself over lockdown.
